- I've put version 1.0i (not sure if that's the most recent) up on
- ftp.cica.indiana.edu in the uploads section as vtskt10i.zip - it'll probably
- migrate to your favourite mirror site in the next day or so. If you're
- impatient but can't get onto cica, gimme an e-bell and I'll email it to you.

- Alas, this is a DOS client, nothing at all to do with winsock.

- Subject: problem installing MS TCP/IP-32 March Beta
-
- I've problems installing the MS TCP/IP-32 packet (March Beta) on my
- computer (WfW 3.11 german). After selecting OK in the Install Driver dialog
- box all files are copied correctly, but after this the dialog box stay top
- and do not disappear (so I can only leave this box by cancel)!
-
- So I can't install the packet the normal way, BUT:
-
- Can somebody who has installed the packet successfully send me his
- PROTOKOLL.INI and the importent parts of his SYSTEM.INI, so I can
- install the packet manually? This would by very kindly!
-
- Regards, Axel

- Subject: MS TCP/IP-32 on ODI
-
-
- I posted earlier today concerning the use of the Microsoft
- TCP/IP-32 March beta on an ODI based interface (as opposed
- to an NDIS interface). For clarity, I am posting this
- e-mail that I received from a MS/CNS technician after my
- original posting. I hope this helps.
-
- ############################################################
- When using ODI drivers and installing MS TCP/IP-32 beta the following
- problem may occur.
-
- Problem:
-
- The TCP/IP-32 stack installs without problem, but after reboot the only IP
- Address that you will be able to PING is the localhost address (127.0.0.1).
-
- Resolution:
-
- You need to change a line in the SYSTEM.INI. In the netcard section, the
- Binding line should refer to the ODI driver name advertised by the odi driver
- at boot time. You can also find the ODI driver name in the NET.CFG file in
- the form "Link Driver XXXX" where XXXX is the driver name.
-
- For example:
-
- If the NET.CFG has the following:
-
- Link Driver DEPCA
- etc...
- etc...
-
- And after install the netcard section in the SYSTEM.INI looks something like:
-
- [ms$ewtrb0]
- DefaultGateway = ...
- IPMask = ...
- IPAddress = ..
- Description = ..
- Binding = ms$ewtrb
-
- You would change the Binding line to read
-
- Binding = DEPCA
-
- Save...Reboot, and that should resolve the problem.
